At Vegan Travel Asia by VegVoyages, we want you to walk away from your adventure with much more than a few snapshots. We want you to become part of the destination and leave the country with a better understanding of its people, culture, history, and let’s not forget…fantastic food!

Our off-the-beaten-track tours focus on cultural immersion, local interaction, and eating lots of mouthwatering local vegan cuisines. Vegan Travel Asia by VegVoyages is made up of a team of 5 close friends from and living in 4 different countries and 4 different faiths who combined their diverse backgrounds with a mutual passion for people, animals, veganism, cultures, and history to create adventures like no other! Our guests go beyond simply visiting a country and experiencing its fascinating sights, they immerse themselves into communities and learn about the local way of life, traditions, and customs while enjoying 100% local vegan food. Starting with 3 trips in one country in 2004, Vegan Travel Asia by VegVoyages organizes and leads up to 27 vegan cultural adventure tours every year across 9 countries… Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Indonesia (Bali), Laos, Malaysia, Nepal (including Everest Base Camp Trek), Sri Lanka, and Thailand.

Before joining together to form Vegan Travel Asia by VegVoyages, our team coordinated film and media projects in Southeast Asia and South Asia for over a decade and a half. With a shared passion for animal rights, veganism, environmentalism, and unity across cultures, and drawing on our coordinating and logistics backgrounds, Vegan Travel Asia by VegVoyages was born.

At Vegan Travel Asia by VegVoyages, we work closely with local communities to create stories that our guests “live” for 8 to 16 days. Through these stories, guests develop a better understanding of the country they are visiting along with the people and cultures that they are guests of. We love our jobs and are passionate about sharing our excitement and affection for the countries our adventures are in; some of which we are delighted to call home (India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Nepal). We only create tours in countries where we have personally lived and worked over the years, and know closely. Working with our friends, colleagues, communities, fellow vegans, social activists, educators, and in many cases – family. This enables us to share first-hand knowledge of the region, its people, and their way of life, cultures, and of course, cuisines.

PLEASE NOTE – All VEGAN TRAVEL ASIA by VEGVOYAGES ADVENTURES ARE 100% VEGAN in every sense of the word:

For us being vegan is much more than just about what we eat. It is about not doing anything that exploits any living beings – meaning both animals and humans alike. Vegan Travel Asia by VegVoyages is against the exploitation of animals in any form. We do not use animals on our tours in any way for rides or safaris and NO visit to zoos or “animal parks”. Our founding principle was and is to create 100% cruelty-free travel experiences in which no living beings are exploited in any way. We aim to provide you with exciting and unique off-the-beaten-track cruelty-free vegan adventures.

Responsible travel and giving back to the communities we visit is a founding principle and philosophy at VegVoyages. We are keen on making travel beneficial for our guests as well as the people and places we visit. For this reason, we launched the VegVoyages Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charity. From the very beginning, we have been incorporating social and charitable activities as part of our adventures. This includes helping out at local grassroots animal sanctuaries and marine conservation and protection projects, community recycling programs and beach cleanups, providing school supplies at village schools and helping build village libraries, helping educational-based programs for disadvantaged communities, and serving up nutritious vegan lunches at children’s homes. We also help to sustain rural schools by providing books and other materials and assist with funding for grassroots social welfare, animal rights, and care organizations. From day one, we have made it our responsibility to assist wherever we can, helping communities that have welcomed us into their hearts and homes. For us, travel is much more than a business, it is a way to do something – to help communities, people, animals, and other causes we believe in.

An adventure with Vegan Travel Asia by VegVoyages is not your typical holiday or package tour, and we don’t hand your trip off to agents. Instead, every one of the adventures we oversee personally to ensure that you get the best adventure we possibly can offer.

Our accommodations vary depending on where we are. We may stay in a centuries-old Royal Mansion or Private Palace in the badlands of Rajasthan, or at a peaceful Eco-Retreat nestled among some of the oldest mountains in all of Asia. We may stay in a wood Beachfront Cabana on a tropical island, at a charming Bed and Breakfast in a Colonial-era Villa, or a Balinese-style villa overlooking the paddy fields.

With Vegan Travel Asia by VegVoyages, vegans are no longer the odd ones out. No more having to go hungry and subsist on salads and side dishes. We love to eat, and we know you do too. That’s why food plays an important part in all of our adventures! Tasty, spicy, sweet, or sour – our pure vegan food highlights the culinary traditions of our destinations. Every one of our adventures is designed to introduce you to some of the tastiest local and regional vegan food. From market stalls, local cafes, private home-cooked meals, and popular neighborhood restaurants – you’ll be sure to enjoy the gastronomic delights of each country you visit. All our adventures also include cooking classes, offering you the opportunity to learn to make some of these delicacies!

The aim of every one of our adventures is to offer you a lived experience of your chosen region’s rich heritage, history, culture, way of life, and cuisines – and we look forward to sharing it with you!
